What minimum text contrast does WCAG level AA require for normal text?

Explanation

AA: 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text (from 24px, or ~18.7px bold), as well as for UI components and meaningful graphics. 7:1 is the AAA requirement. Level AA is the standard target and a legal requirement in many countries (EN 301 549 in the EU, ADA in the US in practice).
