What does a Git commit store?
- 1A copy of the files that were opened in the editor
- 2Only the lines that changed since the previous commit
- ✓Correct answer: A snapshot of the project plus author, message and parent
Explanation
Conceptually each commit is a full snapshot (unchanged files are reused, not duplicated) with metadata and a link to its parent. Diffs are computed when you ask for them.
